Canada

Canada could be a country that recognizes the important work done by caregivers. These are the workers who provide support to our kids, seniors, et al. requiring care. For this reason, Canada manages a variety of programs to help caregivers with finding work. After just two years of experience with the LCP official document, foreign nationals are able to apply for permanent residence.

The following are Canada’s existing immigration programs for caregivers.

Interim Pathway for Caregivers

The Interim Pathway for Caregivers is also a quick program running from March 4th to June 4th, 2019. Foreign caregivers with Canadian experience are visiting be ready to apply for permanent resident status. The program allows individuals with Canadian work experience as home child care providers or home support workers to use for permanent resident status.

WHERE DO I SUBMIT MY TRV RENEWAL APPLICATION

If you are physically in Canada and your passport with your new TRV is to be sent back to a Canadian address, you must send your TRV application to the Case Processing Pilot office in Ottawa (CPP-O) . This application has to be done online through MyCIC. It is also possible to apply on paper.

If you are physically outside of Canada and your passport with the new TRV is to be sent back to you outside of Canada, you must submit your application in person or by mail to the visa application center (VAC) in charge of the country you have been legally admitted to. The VAC will then transfer your application to the appropriate Canadian visa office (CVO) for processing. In most cases, you can also fill out an online TRV application.

We strongly discourage you to leave Canada for holidays abroad without having first renewed your TRV, because you might not be able to come back to Canada in time for the start of classes, should processing times in your CVO be longer than expected, or should visa processing be suspended because of political, social or military crises.

Home Child Care Provider Pilot

The Home Child Care Provider Pilot is intended to bring workers with experience as Home Child Care Providers (NOC 4411) to Canada on temporary work permits, with the power to use for permanent residence after gaining enough work experience. This program opened to applications on June 18th, 2019, with a maximum of two,750 candidates and their immediate families accepted yearly.

Home Support Worker Pilot

The Home Support Worker Pilot is one of two caregiver pilots launched in June, 2019. This pathway is designed for foreign nationals with work experience in NOC 4412.
